Adele Dunlap from New Jersey – the oldest American – has reportedly died at the age of 114.
According to MSN, Dunlap died Sunday, just months after becoming the oldest person in the country after the previous oldest citizen – Goldie Michelson of Worcester, Massachusetts – died at age 113.
Remarkably, at the time she declared, “I don’t feel any different.”
Dunlap was reportedly a school teacher who raised three children. Her husband died in 1963.
Interestingly enough, Dunlop had no explanation as to why she lived so long. Her children were equally clueless.
“She never went out jogging or anything like that,” said her son Earl Dunlap when Adele became the oldest woman in America.
“She’s not really thin, but she never weighed more than 140 pounds. She smoked, and when my father had his first heart attack, they both stopped. I think she ate anything she wanted.”
